Behavior
Somewhat shy at first, Laetacara araguaiae seem to adjust slowly to new aquariums and will become more active as they become more comfortable with their surroundings. They seem to not like sudden movements outside of the aquarium and will quickly dart to a hiding place when it feels threatened. This species is generally peaceful but can harrass small and slow moving tankmates.
Diet
In the wild Laetacara araguaiae are insectivores and micro-predators. Flake or pellet food make a great staple diet that can be supplemented with various frozen foods such as brine shrimp and blood worms.
